ARGENTINEAN OFFSHORE - Characterization Study

ARGENTINEAN OFFSHORE - Characterization Study

May 09, 2019
On March 2019, the  Secretary of Energy awarded the LCV Group an exclusive license for 36 months to carry out studies of Characterization of Reservoir, Source and Seal Rocks, based on studies of cores, sidewall cores and cuttings for the "Malvinas, Colorado, Austral and Golfo San Jorge" offshore basins.
The study is carried out on the basis of "physical" data (cuttings and cores) and electric logs. The final study will generate a new set of geological and petrophysical data in terms of biostratigraphy, geochemistry and geological reservoir properties/qualities, together with the seal analysis.
An additional advantage is that the generated data with be contrasted and compared will the conjugate margins of West Africa.
The study will create a high-resolution database to realize a new and developing technology. The objectives are to generate greater investment in the area under analysis and to allow potential investors to examine the economics of the oil and gas exploration and the reservoir development in the area.
The new technology applied in this evaluation of the new database wil be high-resolution biostratigraphy, and the CoreCad registration program for a digital sedimentological registration database.
